Its a real joy to be able to spend time in the mountains as your career and whilst being based in Snowdonia in North Wales I do get to spend time and work across the UK and Ireland guiding and doing the thing I love. But being based in Wales is great as it does offer some of the most amazing mountain terrain available in the UK whether its for walking, hiking or even climbing. When the weather gods play ball it also hosts some amazing winter mountaineering.
I first took on my Mountain Leader training in the summer of 2019 and ever since I've built up a vast array of experience in the mountains and outdoors world across the UK and also in Europe. What we do here varies a lot between charity walks to mountain challenges like the National 3 Peaks where we work freelance for other organisations. We also run our own skill days and multi day workshops covering Navigation, steep ground skills and all the mountains skills you would need to be safe or even for it you are working towards working in the outdoors yourself.
Also having years of experience at organising Mountain Races means we can offer event support and mountain safety to events across the UK whether that be in route planning, mountain safety or just for guidance on your events.
Azow is a fully insured guiding company, myself and any Mountain Leaders who work alongside us are fully qualified and certified through the Mountain Training Association will have a minimum of the 16hour Outdoor First Aid accreditation whilst we also aim to have Expedition First Aid as well. We are all fully insured and all have a valid DBS Certificate.
I myself am a member of the Mountain Training Association and also the British Mountaineering Council and believe that these are really important as the standard the Mountain Training Association uphold on their training is very high and sets the standard.
