Mountain Skills Days
Learn the practical navigation skills that help you move more confidently and independently in the hills and mountains.
Build Confidence
Good navigation is one of the most important skills for anyone who spends time in the mountains. It gives you greater independence, helps you plan safer routes and allows you to make better decisions when visibility deteriorates.
Our navigation courses are suitable for walkers and runners and can be adapted to complete beginners or people who already have some experience but want to improve their confidence.
The focus is practical. Rather than spending the day in a classroom, you'll learn and practise the skills in real terrain.

Navigation isn't only for traditional hillwalkers. Trail runners, fastpackers and anyone heading onto remote terrain can benefit from being able to navigate confidently without relying entirely on a phone or GPS device.
Courses can be tailored to the pace and experience of the group, while keeping the emphasis on practical skills and good mountain judgement.
